Sales and Marketing Professional Aerielle Kim
Aerielle Kim
I had the great honor of interviewing Aerielle Kim, who is currently working in the marketing sector for Amazon, specializing in advertisements. Aerielle grew up in Bergen County, where she attended elementary and high school. For middle school, she went to Horace Mann, a private school located in the Bronx. Her parents came to America at a young age, and she likes to refer to herself as a first/second-generation Korean American.
What the interview focused on
Aerielle dives into the culture shocks she experienced between Bergen County and the Bronx. She shares insights about her Korean community in both areas, highlighting the unique challenges and benefits of being a Korean American. Aerielle discusses the pros and cons of her identity in the workplace, emphasizing the influence of her parents and the "immigrant child narrative." She provides a perspective of growing up in a more "Americanized" household and explores how religion impacts many Korean families.
