I had the pleasure of interviewing Mrs. Quinones for the Korean Community. She is the academic dean at the Academy of the Holy Angels. Her role is to guide students in their academicsI really enjoyed this interview because it was different than the other interviews I had done. She focused on her identity and how she found her community being mixed heritage.

What the interview focused on

Mrs. Quinones is half Puerto Rican and half Korean. She talks about the challenges she faced when she was growing up and how community was a big part of her journey. She also focused on how different she was treated because she didn’t look Korean, and how at times, the community rejected her. Look at the interview to hear more about her experience and advice!
